Executive Team
Eric JacobsenCEOEric Jacobsen joined the Winder team in August 2004 when Dolphin II, of which he is a co-founder, made a significant investment in what was then Winder Dairy. An accomplished entrepreneur, Eric has successfully started, acquired, and/or sold several companies including TNT Sound, MECA Software, Home Financial Network, and Financial Fusion. Eric sits on the board of several companies and is a trustee of St. Paul's School in Concord, NH. A native of Montana and a recipient of the Frank Hervey Cook Scholarship in 1979, Eric is now a board member of the Cook Scholarship which annually awards scholarships for outstanding Montana students to attend St. Paul's School and the college of their choice. Eric somehow received a Bachelor's Degree from Stanford University. “I have 3 children who love to drink Winder milk and refuse to drink anything else. Not because daddy works here, but because of the great taste. And mommy likes the milk because it doesn’t have any artificial hormones added.” In addition to Winder’s Farm Fresh Goodness, Eric loves adventure racing and model trains.
Mike DuttonPresident and COOMike also joined the Winder team in August 2004 as part of the Dolphin II investment. A partner in Dolphin II, Mike was the co-founder of Genus Group, a technology media firm that he sold to International Data Group. Prior to joining Winder Farms, Ken served as a Director in Equity Capital Markets at Deutsche Bank in London from 2000 to 2004. From 1995 to 1999, he worked at Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown, most recently as Vice President of Corporate Finance, focusing on the media and communications sectors. From 1987 to 1992, Ken worked at Coopers & Lybrand.
He has an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School, and a B.S. in Accounting and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Delaware. Kent WinderPresident of Winder WholesaleKent is a fifth generation family member to be involved in the business. He was president at the time the investment with Dolphin II and Peterson Partners was made in 2004. Prior,Kent served as Executive VP from 1982-2004, and previously worked as route sales manager, in the Winder plant/bakery and on the farm.
It was Kent's experience on the farm that helped him realize the importance of pampering the cows. Give them the right kind of feed, space to graze, no drugs, and they will return a healthy product that is utterly good. (And that's no bull!) Active in the community, Kent has served as a Taylorsville City councilman, chairman of ChamberWest chamber of commerce, a member of the West Valley City Cultural Arts Board, and as chairman of the board of trustees for Pioneer Valley Hospital. Kent attended both the University of Utah and Brigham Young University.
Mike WinderVice President of MarketingMike is a sixth generation family member to be involved in the business and has been in his current capacity since April 2004. He served as business development manager for Utah’s second largest city from 2000-2004, where he was named one of “40 Rising Stars Under 40” by Utah Business magazine. From 1997-2000 he worked as Winder Dairy’s sales manager, leading the company to record growth.
Mike is a history junkie (maybe that's why he loves being at a 125 year-old family business). In addition to five published books, Mike’s writings have also appeared in various newspapers and periodicals. In 2005 he was appointed by Gov. Huntsman to the Utah Board of State History, and in 2006 he began his service as a West Valley City councilman. Mike holds an Honors BA and an MBA from the University of Utah, as well as a leadership certificate from Harvard. A lifelong addict of Winder chocolate milk, Mike has passed on his sweet tooth to his three children who think the vivacious vanilla milk and fresh lemonade are the best!
