Cows on parade mean a chance to win free delivered groceries for six months

Have you been seeing spots around Summerlin lately? Don't worry, you can put off that visit to the optometrist, but get your laptop ready. These days, spots in the dairy world mean a chance to win six months of free, farm-fresh groceries delivered to your doorstep courtesy of Winder Farms.

Famous in and around Salt Lake City, Winder Farms, which began its operations in 1880, has extended its farmer's market on wheels route to Summerlin. The company celebrated its first area delivery Aug. 25.

From its humble beginnings in 1880, Winder Farms has logged more than 87 million deliveries and has grown its line to include more than 125 farm-fresh products, most of which are all natural, organic, and preservative, hormone and pesticide free.

To celebrate its "moove" into town, Winder Farms has unleashed four of its prized bovines to help introduce itself to the community. With delivery set for the Summerlin area for now (bordered by Cheyenne Avenue to the north, Jones Boulevard to the east, Spring Mountain Road to the south and the Red Rock National Conservation Area to the west), the company plans to expand to other sections of the valley soon.

But for now, if you think you've spotted a cow chipping golf balls at Angel Park Golf Club, swinging alongside your youngster at the corner park or sipping on a cappuccino at the local bookstore, don't be alarmed. Rather, log onto www. Winderfarms.com, or call 800-946-3371 to enter the six-month-free contest. Rules are available online or by a service associate. The contest ends Oct. 3.

How it works

After paying a one-time sign-up fee of $29.95, which includes a Winder Farms logo cooler and an ice pack to help keep groceries chilled, customers can select from a variety of items, including the farm's famous hormone-free milk, bread, bacon, eggs, sausage, yogurt, pizza, cheese, fruits, vegetables, beef, jam, honey, butter and more. Following registration, all that's required is a one-week delivery schedule, a $2.95 delivery fee and a $5 standing order. Deliveries originate from St. George, Utah, and are guaranteed at your doorstep by 8 a.m. New clients will receive a gift grocery pack, and there is no minimum contract term.
