Chas. W. Bangerter & Sons

Our farm history starts in 1902 with the purchase of some of our current farm acreage by my Great Grandfather – Nicklas Bangerter who was a renowned farmer in his own right in the Bountiful, Utah area. He owned the first grain thresher and one of the first cars in town. In 1906, my Grandfather – Orson N. Bangerter was married and soon built a home on the property and started to farm it as his own. He raised 12 children on the farm (10 boys) and farmed until his death in 1946. He called his operation: Orson N. Bangerter and Sons.

My Father – Charles W. Bangerter was born on the farm in 1918 and worked on it continually for over 80 years until his death in 1999. ‘Charley’ worked with his father and then took over the farm upon Orson’s death. He raised 6 children on the farm. He called his operation Chas. W. Bangerter and Sons. I (Alan Bangerter) came along in 1951 and farmed with my father as a youth and decided to stay with it as we later began to expand in acreage. We incorporated in 1973 and started Chas. W. Bangerter & Son, Inc., our current company. I have 6 children, with 3 currently still working on the farm – and they are partners in the operation (Charles, Nicklas, and Bryce). They have 8 children between them, so there have been six generations farming this same property over the years.

We have grown many vegetables over the years including: Beans, Beets, Sweet Corn, Peas, Radishes, Summer & Winter Squash, Eggplant, Jalapeno and other Peppers, Pumpkins, and Tomatoes. In the past we have grown: Melons, Cucumbers, Green Onions, Bell Peppers, Strawberries, etc.

We decided long ago that we must grow, harvest, grade, pack, refrigerate, ice, and package our produce the same or better than anything else available to the markets. But, we believe that having our produce fresher is what makes the difference to our customers. We strive to have the best varieties available with the best appearance and taste. We have also been GLOBAL G.A.P Certified for Food Safety with third party audits conducted regularly since 2012.

We stand behind our product 100% and want to make sure our customers are happy and completely satisfied with our produce. Our cartons say it all: “Utah’s Best Produce”!!
